Opiliones
Opiliones, commonly known as harvestmen or daddy long-legs, are arachnids that resemble spiders but are a distinct group. They have a compact body and very long, slender legs. Unlike spiders, they have a fused body segment making them appear as a single oval shape. They are usually harmless, feeding on small insects, plants, and fungi. They are found worldwide in varied habitats such as forests, caves, and gardens. Despite common misconceptions, they do not produce venom or silk. Their long legs are adapted for sensing their environment and navigating through complex terrains.
