Operation Thursday
Operation Thursday was a covert military and intelligence mission conducted in 1944 during World War II. Its goal was to gather critical intelligence on the German Navy’s U-boat operations in the Atlantic. British and Allied forces used specially modified aircraft and submarines to observe, track, and intercept German U-boats, providing valuable information to help combat them effectively. The operation helped improve convoy protection and anti-submarine tactics, ultimately contributing to the weakening of German naval forces and Allied control of Atlantic shipping routes.
