Operation Storm (Operacija Oluja)

Operation Storm (Operacija Oluja), carried out in August 1995, was a Croatian military offensive aimed at reclaiming territory held by Serb forces in Croatia's Krajina region. It involved rapid and coordinated attacks, utilizing air, land, and artillery units, which resulted in the swift re-establishment of Croatian control over most of the region. The operation significantly shifted the balance of power in the Croatian War of Independence, led to the displacement of tens of thousands of Serbian civilians, and contributed to ending the conflict. It remains a pivotal, yet controversial, event in Croatian and regional history.
