Operation Spring Awakening

Operation Spring Awakening was a German military training exercise conducted in 1955 to prepare for potential conflict during the Cold War. It aimed to simulate large-scale mobilization, troop movements, and combat scenarios in preparation for future warfare. Although it did not involve actual combat, it demonstrated Germany's increasing military readiness after World War II and was a step towards re-establishing the Bundeswehr, the West German armed forces, within NATO's framework. The operation highlighted Germany’s transition from post-war restrictions to active military capabilities amidst Cold War tensions.
