Operation Seelöwe
Operation Seelöwe was Nazi Germany's planned invasion of Britain during World War II, designed to gain control of the island after dominating mainland Europe. Launched in 1940, it relied on aerial and naval assaults to weaken British defenses, especially the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. The plan involved seizing key ports and establishing a foothold to facilitate further conquest. However, the invasion never took place, primarily because Britain successfully resisted aerial attacks and its navy maintained control of the seas, making a successful crossing highly unlikely. Eventually, the plan was abandoned, and Germany shifted its focus elsewhere.
