Operation Rösselsprung
Operation Rösselsprung was a German military attack during World War II aimed at capturing Yugoslav Partisan leader Josip Broz Tito and disrupting resistance activities. Conducted in 1944, it involved a daring airborne assault combined with a ground offensive in Bosnia. German forces parachuted into Partisan territory, attempting to seize Tito and weaken the resistance movement. While they succeeded in capturing some targets and caused disruptions, Tito narrowly escaped. The operation showcased innovative tactics and coordination but ultimately failed to achieve its primary goal of eliminating Tito.
