Operation Prairie

Operation Prairie was a military campaign conducted by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. It aimed to target and disrupt the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces in the I Corps area of South Vietnam, particularly in the regions bordering North Vietnam. The operation involved large-scale search-and-destroy missions, using artillery, air support, and ground troops to locate enemy bases and supply routes. Its goal was to weaken the enemy’s ability to operate in South Vietnam, protect U.S. and South Vietnamese forces, and gather intelligence.
