Operation Jackstay
Operation Jackstay was a military mission during the Vietnam War in 1968, focused on interdicting North Vietnamese supplies and fighters in the Mekong Delta. U.S. and South Vietnamese forces used small boats to navigate the complex river networks, conducting patrols, engaging enemy vessels, and confiscating enemy supplies. The operation aimed to disrupt the Viet Cong’s logistics and communications, helping to secure the region and support broader military strategies. It demonstrated the use of mobile, river-based tactics to control critical supply routes in sensitive areas of Vietnam.
