Operation Herrick

Operation Herrick was the code name for the UK's military mission in Afghanistan from 2002 to 2014. It involved British armed forces supporting the Afghan government in efforts to stabilize the country, combat insurgents, and promote security and development. The operation included combat actions, training Afghan security forces, and reconstruction projects. It was part of the broader international effort led by NATO to counter terrorism and rebuild Afghanistan's stability. Throughout the mission, UK troops faced significant risks and challenges, and many service members were injured or lost their lives.
