Operation Gothic Serpent

Operation Gothic Serpent was a US military mission in Somalia during 1993, aimed at capturing key warlord Mohammed Farah Aidid to stabilize the country and distribute humanitarian aid. It involved coordinated ground troops and air support to locate and apprehend Aidid's forces. The operation faced intense resistance, culminating in the Battle of Mogadishu, where two Black Hawk helicopters were downed, leading to a fierce firefight.
