Operation Glimmer

Operation Glimmer was a World War II Allied military deception during the D-Day invasion in June 1944. Its goal was to confuse German forces about the true landing site in Normandy. This was achieved by creating fake military equipment, aircraft, and personnel using inflatable tanks, fake radio signals, and visual decoys. The aim was to divert German attention away from the actual beaches where the Allies planned to land, thereby reducing resistance and increasing the chances of a successful invasion. It was part of a larger deception strategy called Operation Bodyguard, designed to mislead the Germans about Allied intentions.
