Operation Althea

Operation Althea is a mission conducted by NATO forces in Bosnia to ensure stability, security, and free movement within the country. Launched in 2014, its primary goal is to support Bosnia’s efforts to maintain peace, prevent conflict, and manage border security. The operation involves training local security forces, conducting patrols, and gathering intelligence to prevent threats such as terrorism and organized crime. It is part of NATO’s ongoing commitment to peacekeeping and regional stability in the Western Balkans, helping Bosnia develop its own security capabilities while keeping potential risks in check.
