Open Season

Open season is a designated period when individuals can purchase or renew health insurance policies through government exchanges or marketplaces without needing a special reason. During this time, people can enroll, switch plans, or make changes to their existing coverage for the upcoming year. It typically occurs annually and is designed to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to access or update their health insurance. Outside of open season, enrollment is usually only available under specific circumstances, such as qualifying life events.
