Oocyte retrieval

Oocyte retrieval is a medical procedure used to collect eggs from a woman’s ovaries, usually as part of fertility treatment. Before the procedure, hormone medications are given to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. Using ultrasound imaging and a thin needle, a doctor guides through the vaginal wall to reach the ovaries and gently suction out the mature eggs. This minimally invasive process typically takes about 20-30 minutes, and the collected eggs can then be fertilized in the laboratory for assisted reproduction techniques like IVF.
