Ontology (philosophy)
Ontology in philosophy is the study of what exists and the nature of being. It explores questions about the fundamental categories of reality and how entities relate within those categories. For example, it examines whether abstract concepts like numbers or ideas have the same status as physical objects, and how different entities—people, objects, relationships—fit into the structure of reality. Essentially, ontology seeks to understand the basic building blocks of existence and the relationships between them, providing a framework to analyze and categorize everything that exists or can be said to exist.
