Ontological Pluralism

Ontological pluralism is the philosophical view that there is no single, universal way to categorize or understand what exists. Instead, different contexts, perspectives, or disciplines may require recognizing diverse kinds of existence or reality. For example, the existence of physical objects, abstract concepts like numbers, or social constructs like institutions are all valid but may be understood differently depending on the framework used. This approach acknowledges that reality is complex and multifaceted, allowing multiple, sometimes conflicting, ways of describing what’s real, each appropriate within its own context.
