Ontario Ministry of Environment

The Ontario Ministry of the Environment, now part of the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, is responsible for protecting Ontario’s air, water, land, and natural resources. It creates and enforces regulations to control pollution, manage waste, and preserve biodiversity. The ministry also oversees environmental assessments, promotes sustainable development, and ensures communities and businesses comply with environmental laws. Its goal is to maintain a healthy environment that supports economic growth, public health, and quality of life for Ontario residents.
