Ontario Health and Safety Act

Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act is a law that sets out the rights and responsibilities of employers, workers, and others to ensure a safe workplace. It requires employers to identify and control hazards, provide safety training, and maintain equipment and procedures to prevent injuries and illnesses. Workers have the right to be informed about hazards, participate in safety efforts, and refuse unsafe work without reprisal. The Act aims to promote health and safety standards across all workplaces in Ontario, fostering a culture of prevention and accountability to protect everyone’s well-being at work.
