Online Grooming

Online grooming is when someone build a deceptive or manipulative relationship with a person, typically a child or vulnerable individual, through the internet. The groomer may use flattery, gifts, or emotional tactics to gain trust and lower the victim’s defenses, with the goal of exploiting or abusing them later. This process often occurs gradually, making the victim feel special or cared for. Recognizing online grooming involves understanding that personal boundaries should be respected and that trusted adults should be informed if any uncomfortable behavior or requests arise online.
