Omer sacrifice
The Omer sacrifice was an ancient Jewish ritual performed during the counting of the Omer, a 49-day period between Passover and Shavuot. On the second day of Passover, a barley offering was presented in the Temple, marking the start of this counting period. Each day, a small portion was designated for offering, symbolizing spiritual growth and preparation for receiving the Torah. The Omer sacrifice connected agricultural cycles with spiritual reflection, emphasizing gratitude, self-improvement, and anticipation for the upcoming holiday of Shavuot.
