
Omar Suleiman
Omar Suleiman (1958–2019) was an Egyptian-American scholar, diplomat, and public figure known for his role as a government official and his efforts in conflict resolution. He served as Egypt's chief intelligence officer from 2011 to 2013 and was involved in regional diplomacy during Egypt’s political upheavals. Suleiman was also the founder and president of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, promoting moderate Islamic teachings and interfaith understanding. Recognized for his efforts to foster peace and dialogue, he combined his expertise in security, religion, and leadership to address complex socio-political issues.
