Olynthos
Olynthos was an ancient Greek city located in northern Greece, near the Aegean Sea. It thrived in the 5th and 4th centuries BCE as a significant coastal town and a member of the Chalcidian League. Known for its well-planned grid-like streets, it was an important center for trade, culture, and politics. Olynthos was often involved in regional conflicts and alliances, especially with neighboring Macedonia. The city was destroyed by Philip II of Macedon in 348 BCE, and today, it is an important archaeological site that provides insights into early Greek urban planning and everyday life.
