Olympic Village (Rio 2016)

The Olympic Village in Rio 2016 was a large residential complex built to accommodate thousands of athletes, officials, and staff during the Games. Located in the Barra da Tijuca neighborhood, it provided modern dormitory-style housing, dining facilities, medical services, and entertainment. After the Olympics, many of the apartments were repurposed into housing or commercial spaces, aiming to benefit the local community. The Village was designed to foster athlete interaction and facilitate event logistics, serving as a central hub during the Games while also representing a lasting urban development project in Rio.
