Olympic Archery Regulations

Olympic archery follows standardized rules to ensure fairness and consistency. Archers use a recurve bow, shooting arrows from a specified distance—70 meters—at a circular target with numbered scoring zones. Matches consist of ends, where each archer fires a set number of arrows (usually three or six). Scoring depends on where the arrows land; higher points for closer to the center. Time limits are set for each shot, and equipment must meet safety standards. The athlete with the highest total score after all rounds wins, with tie-breakers used if necessary. These regulations promote skill, precision, and fairness in competition.
