Olmec script

The Olmec script refers to the writing system used by the ancient Olmec civilization, considered one of Mesoamerica’s earliest cultures. While the extent of their script remains partially understood, it likely consisted of symbols or glyphs used for recording events, dates, or rituals. These inscriptions, found on monuments and artifacts, provide glimpses into Olmec society, religion, and governance. However, unlike later Mexican scripts, the Olmec writing has not been fully deciphered, and much of its meaning remains a scholarly mystery, making it a fascinating subject for studying early Mesoamerican communication.
