Olive ridley turtle

The Olive Ridley turtle is a small to medium-sized sea turtle known for its unique mass nesting called arribada, where thousands of females come ashore simultaneously to lay eggs. Found primarily in warm tropical waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, it feeds mainly on jellyfish and other soft-bodied animals. With an oval-shaped shell and pale, olive-colored skin, this species faces threats from habitat loss, pollution, and illegal fishing. Conservation efforts focus on protecting nesting sites and reducing bycatch to ensure their survival, as they are classified as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
