Olefin production
Olefin production involves creating hydrocarbons like ethylene and propylene, which are essential building blocks for plastics and chemicals. This process typically starts with the conversion of natural gas or crude oil through methods such as steam cracking or catalytic cracking. In steam cracking, hydrocarbon feeds are heated to high temperatures in the presence of steam, causing large molecules to break apart into smaller olefin molecules. These olefins are then separated and purified for use in manufacturing a wide range of products, including packaging, textiles, and automotive parts.
