Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya
The Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya, or October Revolution, occurred in Russia in October 1917 (Julian calendar) and was a key event in the Russian Revolution. It was led by the Bolshevik Party, headed by Vladimir Lenin, who sought to overthrow the Provisional Government that had replaced the Tsar. The revolution aimed to establish a socialist state, advocating for workers' rights and land redistribution. The Bolsheviks seized key government buildings and institutions in Petrograd (now St. Petersburg), resulting in significant political upheaval. This event eventually led to the establishment of the Soviet Union and had a profound impact on global politics throughout the 20th century.
