Ohm (unit of resistance)
Ohm (Ω) is the unit of electrical resistance, measuring how much a material opposes the flow of electric current. Think of resistance like a narrowing pipe: the narrower it is, the harder it is for water (electricity) to pass through. Materials with high resistance, such as rubber, make it difficult for current to flow, while conductors with low resistance, like copper, allow easy flow. The ohm quantifies this opposition: a resistor with 1 ohm resists the current such that a voltage of 1 volt will produce a current of 1 ampere through it.
