Ohm
Ohm is a unit of measurement used to quantify electrical resistance, named after the scientist Georg Simon Ohm. Resistance refers to how much a material or component opposes the flow of electric current. Think of it like a narrow pipe that makes it harder for water to pass through; similarly, higher resistance makes it more difficult for electric current to flow. Materials with low resistance, like copper, allow current to pass easily, while materials with high resistance, like rubber, block or limit current flow. Ohm’s Law states that voltage, current, and resistance are related, with resistance measured in ohms (Ω).
