Ohio Company

The Ohio Company was a land speculation venture established in 1748 by a group of American colonists and British businessmen. Its goal was to acquire and settle land in the Ohio Valley region, which was then contested territory between France and Britain. The company sought to promote settlement, trade, and expansion of colonial interests. Their efforts contributed to tensions that eventually led to the French and Indian War.
