Offshore oil and gas production
Offshore oil and gas production involves extracting petroleum from beneath the ocean floor. Specialized drilling rigs, often called offshore platforms, are positioned on the seabed to access underwater reservoirs. These platforms drill wells to reach oil and gas deposits, which are then brought to the surface. The extracted resources are processed on the platform or transported via pipelines or tankers to onshore facilities for refinement. This method allows access to energy resources located under deep waters, enabling the global supply of oil and natural gas essential for transportation, heating, and industry.
