Offsets

Offsets refer to measures taken to compensate for or reduce the impact of an activity on the environment or a system. They act like balancers, where positive actions—such as planting trees or reducing emissions—counteract or "offset" negative effects like pollution or carbon footprint. For example, a company may offset its carbon emissions by investing in renewable energy projects. Essentially, offsets are strategies to achieve a net neutral impact, helping to balance out environmental or systemic effects while supporting sustainability goals.
