Offboarding

Offboarding is the process that occurs when an employee leaves a company, whether through resignation, retirement, or termination. It involves several steps to ensure a smooth transition: returning company property, revoking access to systems, transferring knowledge or responsibilities, and completing necessary documentation. The goal is to protect company assets, maintain security, and support the departing employee’s transition, often including exit interviews to gather feedback. Effective offboarding helps preserve positive relationships, minimizes disruptions, and ensures organizational continuity.
