Offa's Dyke

Offa's Dyke is an ancient earthwork and historic boundary that roughly marks the border between England and Wales. Built during the 8th century under King Offa of Mercia, it stretches about 177 kilometers (about 110 miles) and was originally constructed to defend against Welsh incursions. The dyke consists of a large bank and a ditch on either side, showcasing the engineering skills of the time. Today, it is recognized as a significant archaeological site and is also part of a long-distance walking trail that offers insights into Britain's historical landscape.
