off-body experiences
Off-body experiences (OBEs) are phenomena where individuals perceive their consciousness or sense of self as being separate from their physical body, often feeling they are observing themselves from outside. These experiences can happen spontaneously, during meditation, or near death. While some interpret OBEs as evidence of consciousness existing independently of the body, scientific explanations often suggest they result from neurological or psychological processes, such as brain activity disruptions affecting spatial awareness and perception. OBEs are a fascinating reminder of how complex and sometimes mysterious our perception of self and reality can be.
