ODYSSEY trial

The ODYSSEY trial was a large clinical study evaluating a medication called alirocumab, used to lower LDL cholesterol (the "bad" cholesterol) in people with high risk for heart disease. It compared alirocumab with standard treatments to see if it reduces the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and related events. The trial included patients with existing cardiovascular disease or very high cholesterol levels. Results showed alirocumab effectively lowered LDL cholesterol and reduced the risk of cardiovascular events, providing evidence for its use as an additional therapy in high-risk individuals.
