ODM (Original Design Manufacturer)

An ODM, or Original Design Manufacturer, is a company that designs and manufactures products that other companies sell under their own brand name. Essentially, the ODM creates the product's design and handles production, so the brand owner can focus on marketing and sales. For example, a tech company might contract an ODM to develop and build a smartphone, which the tech company then markets and sells as its own brand. ODMs are common in industries like electronics and apparel, providing expertise and streamlined manufacturing for brands without in-house design or production facilities.
