Oder-Neisse Line

The Oder-Neisse Line is the border established after World War II that separates Germany from Poland. It follows the Oder and Neisse rivers, moving westward from pre-war borders. This line shifted territories east, transferring parts of Germany to Poland, and was confirmed by international agreements in 1945-1946. It marked a major change in Central European borders, leading to the displacement of millions of Germans and the expansion of Poland’s territory. Today, the Oder-Neisse Line is recognized as Poland's eastern border, symbolizing post-war territorial changes and efforts toward stability in the region.
