Oculus (World Trade Center)
Oculus, also known as the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, is a striking transportation terminal in New York City designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. Located near the One World Trade Center, it serves as a major transit center connecting buses, trains, and the PATH train system. Its distinctive, wing-like structure and vaulted white steel ribs resemble a bird taking flight, symbolizing renewal and motion. The Oculus also features retail shops, an art installation, and public spaces, making it both a functional transit hub and an architectural landmark that reflects resilience and forward-looking optimism for the city.
