Ocular Melanoma
Ocular melanoma is a type of cancer that develops in the eye, specifically in the pigment cells (melanocytes) that give the eye its color. It most commonly forms in the uveal tract, which includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. Symptoms may include blurred vision, dark spots in the eye, or changes in vision. Though rare, ocular melanoma can be aggressive and may spread to other parts of the body. Treatment options vary and can include surgery, radiation, or other therapies, depending on the size and location of the tumor and the overall health of the patient.
