Ocular Coloboma
Ocular coloboma is a condition where a part of the eye, such as the iris, retina, or optic nerve, has a small gap or hole. It occurs when the eye doesn’t develop properly during early pregnancy, leading to a missing piece. The severity and affected areas vary; some people have a minor notch in the iris, while others may have more significant vision issues. It can occur alone or with other eye or health problems. While it may cause visual differences or sensitivity to light, many individuals adapt well and experience good vision.
