Ocular Anatomy
The eye is a complex organ that allows us to see. Light enters through the cornea, the clear front surface, and passes through the pupil, whose size is controlled by the iris. The lens then focuses light onto the retina at the back of the eye, which contains light-sensitive cells that convert it into electrical signals. These signals are sent via the optic nerve to the brain, where visual images are interpreted. Supporting structures like the sclera (white part), aqueous humor (fluid), and vitreous humor (gel-like substance) maintain eye shape and health, enabling clear vision.
