OCSP Responder
An OCSP Responder (Online Certificate Status Protocol Responder) is a server that quickly checks the validity of digital certificates used for secure internet connections. When you visit a website, your browser may ask the OCSP Responder if the website’s security certificate is still valid or has been revoked. The responder then provides a real-time answer, helping ensure the website is trustworthy and secure. This process helps prevent fraud or malicious sites from appearing safe by confirming the certificate’s status without needing to download entire certificate lists.
