Ocrevus
Ocrevus (ocrelizumab) is a medication used to treat multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease that affects the nervous system by damaging the protective covering of nerve fibers. It works by targeting specific immune cells called B cells, which can contribute to nerve damage in MS. By reducing these harmful B cells, Ocrevus helps slow disease progression, decrease relapses, and potentially protect nerve function. It is administered via intravenous infusion every six months and is generally well-tolerated, with monitoring for infections being important during treatment.
