Ocrelizumab
Ocrelizumab is a medication used to treat multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease where the immune system attacks nerve coverings in the brain and spinal cord. It works by targeting and reducing specific immune cells called B cells that contribute to this attack. By doing so, Ocrelizumab helps decrease the frequency of MS relapses and slow disease progression. It is administered through infusions every few months and is typically prescribed when other treatments haven't been effective. While it can help manage MS symptoms and progression, it also has potential side effects, so it’s important to be monitored regularly by a healthcare provider.
