Objects Conservation

Object conservation refers to the understanding that certain properties of objects, like quantity, volume, or mass, remain unchanged despite superficial changes in their appearance or form. For example, a ball of clay is still the same amount whether it's rolled into a ball or flattened into a pancake. This concept is a key milestone in cognitive development, typically developing in children around age 7. It demonstrates that they understand that changing the shape or appearance of an object doesn't alter its fundamental characteristics, fostering logical and mathematical reasoning.
