Obie Awards
The Obie Awards are annual honors recognizing excellence in Off-Broadway theater, acknowledging outstanding productions, performers, directors, and designers in New York City’s smaller, non-commercial theater scene. Established in 1956 by The Village Voice, they celebrate creativity, innovation, and artistic achievement outside Broadway’s mainstage. The awards help elevate and spotlight talented artists and innovative productions that might not have the same visibility, supporting the vibrant and diverse Off-Broadway community.
