Ober Test

The Ober Test is a clinical exam used by healthcare providers to assess the flexibility of the Iliotibial Band (ITB), a ligament running along the outside of the thigh. The patient lies on their side, and the examiner lifts the top leg, then gently lowers it toward the bed. If the leg cannot comfortably fall downward or remains stiff, it suggests tightness or restriction in the ITB. This test helps identify issues that may contribute to hip or knee pain, guiding treatment like stretching or physical therapy to improve mobility.
