Oświęcim
Oświęcim is a small town in Poland, best known internationally as the location of Auschwitz, the site of Nazi concentration and extermination camps during World War II. The names Oświęcim (Polish) and Auschwitz (German) refer to the same place. During the Holocaust, Auschwitz became a symbol of the genocide of six million Jews and millions of other victims. Today, the site functions as a historical memorial and museum, dedicated to remembering the victims and educating future generations about the atrocities committed there. The town continues to carry the weight of this history, serving as a reminder and a place for reflection.
